First Berkshire is, it is subject to a guarantee by Berkshire Hathaway Life Insurance Company of Nebraska. Furthermore, where there is a qualified assignment to BHG Structured Settlements, Inc., the performance of the qualified assignment company is subject to a guarantee by Columbia Insurance Company.
Prior to 1/1/2012, Pacific Life and Annuity Company was the sole underwriting company for Pacific Life structured settlements. Effective 1/1/2012, Pacific Life Insurance Company is the underwriting company for all states except New York and Pacific Life and Annuity Company remains the underwriting company for all cases with a nexus to New York state
Effective 1/1/2010 John Hancock Life Insurance Company ("JHLICO") was merged into John Hancock Life Insurance Company (U.S.A.) ("JHUSA"). As the result of the merger JHUSA will assume the direct responsibility for payment of all claims and benefits, and for all other policy obligations, under in force policies, certificates, or contracts.
If you are receiving structured annuity payments from American International Life Assurance Company of New York and your structure was put in place prior to 7/1/2009 the assignment company would have been either American Home Assurance Company, or National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA.
On December 31, 2010 there was a merger between American International Life Assurance Company of New York and United States Life Insurance Company in The City of New York (known as "US Life" or "USLICO") with the latter being the surviving brand name
